Sorena Saffarpour
If I were to die tomorrow
Who would care?
Who’s heart will be filled with sorrow?
Will my friends say they miss me
Would my enemies begin to diss me?
What about the kids I work with?
Who would take care of them?
I wasn’t thinking of you
I was driving or fighting without a clue
I did not care for you
So why would you care for me?
I didn’t think of you
I didn’t give you my time for free
I certainly cared for me
Wanted to have fun
It ain’t that swell
But what can you say, besides, “oh well”
But that’s the truth
Hope it can soothe
You cannot change what happened
So crying all day won’t ease the pain
I guarantee you have nothing to gain
Adrenaline is a drug like cocaine
Once it’s in your brain,
It begins to heal the pain
You begin to forget those who loved you
Those who nursed you
Those who never forced you
But it’s fine if no one cares
You are not here for anyone
So raise a glass
For you have already won!
And you are finally done.
